Find wells faster with Petrix Maps.

Use this guide to search by well name, search by API number, change the map view, and understand the quick actions available after you select a well.

Search by name

Find a well by name.

Use name search when you know part of the operator name, lease name, well number, or a related well name.

  1. Open the Well Finder tab.
  2. Tap the search bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Start typing the well name, lease name, operator, or well number.
  4. Select the matching suggestion when it appears.
  5. Use the quick actions for route, favorite, share, and well info.

Search by API

Find a well by API number.

API search is best when you have the well identifier and want to go straight to the matching result.

  1. Open the Well Finder tab.
  2. Tap the search bar.
  3. Enter the 10-digit API number, including the state code, county code, and unique well identifier.
  4. For example, California API numbers begin with 04.
  5. Select the matching result to place the well pin on the map.

Map controls

Change the map type.

Switch map styles when you need a different view of the surrounding area.

  1. From the Well Finder screen, tap the three-dot icon inside the search bar.
  2. Choose Select Map Type.
  3. Pick the view that fits your task: Normal, Hybrid, Satellite, or Terrain.
  4. The map refreshes immediately with the selected view.
